Do fire escape windows require to be positioned at a certain height?

All windows required to provide a “means of escape” must be installed in accordance with the current building regulations. The window needs to achieve a clear opening of at least 0.33m2 where minimum dimensions in both the height and width of the clear opening must be 450mm. (for example: if the clear height is 450mm then the clear width must be at least 750mm). The FAKRO Top Hung Pre Select windows from size 6 (78 x 118cm) comply with the current regulations, provided they are fitted as the correct height from the floor, which is no more than 100mm – Please check with your local Building Officer before purchasing or installing.
